Peter grew up on Berlin’s döner. Since 2018 he has made it in Sydney the way Berlin does: toasted Turkish pide, properly seasoned meat, crisp salad and sauces made in-house. There’s currywurst with chips, Leberkäse rolls and Berliner donuts too.

Delicious and and a very GENEROUS serving. Don't think about it....just go and try it. I got the lamb and chicken lamb combo which is only available on a Monday night. recommended by Wekty on YT. Did not disappoint. Cheers.

Döner kebab

Beef, chicken or mixed, sliced fresh into toasted Turkish pide with lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, cabbage and our sauces.

Berliner currywurst

German bratwurst, grilled and doused in our curry sauce, with chips, ketchup and mayo.

Berliner donuts

Jam-filled Berliner and Quarkbällchen, the little quark donuts. Flavours change through the week.

From Berlin to Victoria Road

Peter has been eating döner since the Berlin Wall came down. When he moved to Sydney in 1998 he could not find one that tasted like home. Twenty years, four children and a lot of different jobs later, he built his own and opened The Berlin Food Bunker in 2018.

The bread is baked to his specification by a Turkish bakery. The sauces are made in-house to the taste of his favourite kebab shop in Berlin. Even the paper bags come from Germany.
